PERBANDINGAN KONFLIK SOSIAL DALAM FILM TOBA DREAMS YANG DISUTRADARAI OLEH BENI SETIAWAN DENGAN FILM SANG PRAWIRA YANG DISUTRADARAI OLEH PONTI GEA

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe forms of social conflict and describe the comparison of social conflict in the film Toba Dreams and the film Sang Prawira. To understand conflict and compare social conflict, Ralf Dahrendorf's conflict theory is used. The data used is in the form of dialogue excerpts and scenes that describe conflict and comparisons of social conflict. The data collection method used is the observation and documentation method, while the analysis method used is the content analysis method. The results of this research are that conflict occurs because of injustice committed by the ruling group as the authority holder against the controlled group. The forms of conflict that occur are, 1) conflict between the main character and the mafia 2) conflict between the main character and his family 3) conflict between the mafia group and other business people 4) conflict between the mafia and the police unit. This conflict is found in both films so it is worth comparing. Comparison of social conflicts found several similarities and differences. Comparison of the concepts of two faces of society, namely conflict and consensus with the main character's friends in the social structure, the practice of power and authority, namely the authority possessed by the father as head of the family in each film, the concept of groups involved in conflict, namely the main character is included in an interest group, and the concept of conflict control is that there is agreement and non-agreement in resolving conflict
