Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to play a role in class XI students of the Multimedia Expertise Study Program of SMK Ulil Al-Baab NW Gegek by using Olah Surat Exercise. The method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with

the following steps: (1) planning, (2) action implementation, (3) action results and, (4) reflection. This series of activities is called a cycle. In this study, researchers took action in two cycles. The results show that students' ability to play roles has increased. At the time of the initial observation, 22 students or 69% of the 29 students were stated to be still low in role playing, 9 students or 31% of the students could be stated to be good at role playing on the grounds that they had participated in filming activities at school, at the first cycle stage it was stated that 15 students or 52% of the students had improved in role playing then increased again in cycle II, namely 24 students or 83% of the students had improved in role playing. In cycle I the amount of improvement that occurred was 21% so that it became 52% and in cycle II there was an increase in role playing by 31% to 83% of students experiencing improvement in role playing. From this study it can be concluded that the method of practicing lettering can improve students' role- playing skills.
